Qatar Shooting Association was established on 31/07/1978 as a part of Qatar Armed Forces. QSA joined the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) on 16/12/1978. QSA joined the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) on 26/12/1978 . QSA joined the Arab Shooting Federation (ASF) on 24/03/1987. The Board of Directors of the Qatar Shooting & Archery Association was reconstituted in 17/02/2005 under the presidency of Mr. Mohammed Bin Ali Al-Ghanem
